Not too late a gift

I know it’s a little late to check for a Mother’s Day gift but hope to still get one for my mom who will be celebrating her birthday next month. My mom loves pants and blouse but I’m thinking of giving her cute dresses for a change. You’ll never see her go out wearing a dress. Besides the fact that she doesn’t own a new one, she said it’s comfortable to move in pants. While I agree with her, I guess it’s about time that she adds a dress to her wardrobe. A white long sleeve maxi dress is a good choice for mom. However, the dress that I pick for her will need to get a little seam since my mom is petite I don’t want her to look like wearing a gown.

Also, mom will be delighted to receive a dress on her 77th birthday, which will be a few weeks from now.

And while I’m hunting for a dress right now, I’m looking for an outfit that matches my mood right now. I saw this v-neck super heavy silk double crepe dress at Kis. This dress is a classic piece that you must add in your wardrobe.  You don’t need accessories if you’re wearing something like this because it looks elegant. Even if I can’t travel at the moment, I can still wear this outfit while working at home. I have to look presentable in front of the computer while having a meeting with the boss online.

If ever travel ban is lifted, I would most probably hit the beach. You’ll probably catch me wearing not this dress but a flowing chiffon dress (I saw one at Kis) and a hat. And of course sunblock is on top of the travel must have to protect us from excessive sun exposure.

Chinese wish paper

A lady friend gave this piece of Chinese wish paper to me a few years ago.  She said I could write a prayer or anything that I wish to have or plan that I want to be realized in the future. Her instruction is to burn the paper after I write all my wishes and scatter its ashes in the air to make my “wishes” come true.

I haven’t written anything on it yet. I want to keep it as a remembrance for now.

Hopping Into Easter

A fun holiday when you can make gift baskets for kids is Easter. From bunnies to chicks and lambs, there are several items that you can add to the basket that are fun to play with and fun to eat for the holiday. When you begin designing the basket, try to use pastel colors as these blend well with the spring season. Examples include pink, light blue, green, and yellow.

A wicker basket is an ideal solution for the container that you use for Easter. Put an Easter basket liner inside so that it can be used each year if you plan to keep the basket and only give the person the items inside. On the other hand, the person on the receiving end can use the basket as a decoration year after year.

For many families, they enjoy brunch or an early lunch with family members after church services or before Easter egg hunts get underway. Take a beautiful basket with you that is full of items for the hostess. A wooden basket with a pastel ribbon wrapped around the middle is a good place to start. Add items like a bottle of wine and wine glasses, bubble bath, nail polish, and lotion. You can also include candles and chocolate. This should be a basket with items that the hostess can use to relax at the end of the day after enjoying time with family and friends over the holiday.

When you think of the spring season and Easter, you might think about farms, carrots, lettuce, and other items that you would harvest. Your basket can be designed using a strawberry basket that you paint in an Easter color and that is filled with items the person would enjoy. Add a few artificial eggs to the basket as well whether the gift is for a child or an adult.
